"Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"

"...For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother" (Matthew 12:50).




            I first started talking about this topic on my 23rd birthday morning to my best friend who was also saved through faith by grace - and this is not our own doing, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8) :) I want to have the realization that all who follow Christ are my brothers and sisters and mothers. "Let him who hath understanding reckon" the Kingdom to come (Rev 13:18). Let us gaze into the eternity that is the Kingdom and also the everlasting punishment in the lake of fire (Mat 19:29 & Rev 20:14). Those who do the will of the Father are our brothers and sisters and mothers - for eternity. Never will we see those who do not do the will of the Father. The fact is that this life is but a vapor and that we are headed for eternity (James 4:14). This is all that matters! If we see our flesh as a priority, then let us especially see those in the Spirit as our family (Gal 6:10 & 1 Cor 12:27).


Romans 9:6-8

 For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, ⁷and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but "Through Isaac shall your offspring be named." ⁸This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring. 

Luke 9:57-60

⁵⁷As they were going along the road, someone said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." ⁵⁸And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." ⁵⁹To another he said, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." ⁶⁰And Jesus^[g] said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God."
